Samuel James
Hey there! My name is Samuel James. I’m first and foremost a child of God and follower of Jesus Christ, saved by grace. It’s my lifelong desire to serve our LORD wholeheartedly and utilize the gifts He’s given me for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. I may never achieve perfection, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t give God my 110%.
Beyond that, I’m a lifeguard and multimedia lover looking to reflect the hope of Christ through creative work. I love reading, writing, videography, photography, web creation, graphic design, listening to podcasts, running, playing piano, watching movies, and learning (among other random things).

When did WLF start?
God first put the idea on my heart in early 2023, and in Fall of that year I launched this website. The WLF Podcast subsequently launched on NYE 2024, and WLF Devotionals were unveiled on NYE 2025.
When did you begin writing?
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I started with fiction, and even wrote a 104,000-word novel. I began to take my writing seriously around 2020. After much prayer, I made the transition to non-fiction in Fall of 2022, which coincidentally led to WLF.
When do you publish content?
I release a new Blog Post & WLF Podcast episode every Friday at 5pm CST, and a new Devotional every Tuesday at 5pm CST. Plus I enjoy occasionally posting some of my nature Photography. You can also keep your eyes peeled for bonus content.
What Bible translation do you use for citations?
Whenever possible, I like the NLT. I’m also a fan of the NIV and ESV.
