The End…or the Beginning?

You ain't heard nothing yet.

“You ain’t heard nothing yet.”

You may have noticed that things look different here at Writing, Life, Faith. On Friday, I recapped the incredible work God did through this site in the past year – but that wasn’t it.

There were two things I didn’t tell you about, namely because I’ve been waiting for the right time to launch them. Turns out, New Year’s Eve is a great time to do so. Without further ado, here you go…

Assuming you’re a WLF subscriber, you are probably familiar with the weekly email that gets sent whenever I publish a post (and if you have no idea what I’m talking about, subscribe to find out). And while WordPress does a decent job of formatting said emails, it just can’t compete with a custom design.

Which is why (as of today) I’ve switched over to Kit, an amazing email service tool. I’ve used it for several years, and I decided this was a good time to incorporate it into WLF. As part of this, I’ve completely redesigned the Join page of my site. Here are two things to keep in mind:

1. As of today, all emails will come from my personal address – not the WordPress one. I hope this will fix the issue of some emails going to the junk folder. So keep a lookout for messages from samueljames@writinglifefaith.com, and please don’t mark them as junk (;

2. While I tried my best to migrate everything from WordPress to Kit, it’s possible that I misspelled a name or two. If I did, click the ‘Preferences’ button at the bottom of an email, and you can update it.

So why the change? Not only did I want to serve you better by designing “cooler” emails, but I also needed to do it through Kit so I could link something very special in each email.

This leads me to…

This last week I’ve had a teaser page up on the site, and if you had a chance to see it, you may already have a clue. For the last three months (with a few hiccups due to my health), I have worked on something very special. And today, I’m incredibly honoured to unveil…

The WLF Podcast

Lord willing, going forward I’ll release an audio version with every post I publish. So if you don’t like reading, have trouble with it, or don’t have the time, no more excuses XD. You’ll now have the option to read or listen to the posts (or both).

To find out more, you can listen to the inaugural episode on Spotify by following this link: Now Unveiling…the WLF Podcast. There’s also a new page on my site: the Podcast page. By visiting this page you can quickly hop over to the podcast.

And if you don’t use Spotify, have no fear. I will also be embedding the link to the podcast episode at the top of every new post. And I have verified that even without an account, you can still listen to the episodes.

I can’t wait to see where the Lord will take this. I know it won’t be amazing at first (nothing starts great), but I know that as time goes on the Lord will help me improve. And what better way to develop my speaking ability?

  • Up until today, every time I published a post you would receive a generic email from WordPress. Not anymore, as they’ll now have a whole new look and come through Kit.
  • My new podcast is starting. Every week, I’ll publish an audio version of my post to accompany the written version. There’s a new Podcast page on the site, and you’ll find the link to each podcast episode embedded in the written post.

Thank you so much for your support in my journey thus far! I could not have done this without you, and I hope these new changes will allow me to serve you better and further glorify God. If you have any questions or comments, please leave a comment or email me, I’d love to hear from you. Happy New Year, and I’ll see you on Friday to mark the start of 2025!

For His Glory, always.
